Today I'm linking up with the fabulous Aileen Miracle of Mrs. Miracle's Music Room to share my five favorite pins for June. Now that school has finished I've finally had time to get sucked into
the black hole of awesomeness that is Pinterest. I don't know if that's a
good or bad thing, but I've gotten some really great ideas out of it! Be sure to check out the original post and scroll to the bottom to find what pins other teachers love!
1) Round using "Dynamite"
Normally I'm not huge on songs from the mainstream but this is one that I actually really like. This is super cool and definitely something I want to try with my older kids or choir students!
One of my biggest pet peeves as a teacher is tattling. It drives me crazy! I love this idea and thought I could make a board like this in my room with instruments instead of owls. ("tooting your horn")
3) Despicable Singing Posture
I saw this a while back and recently rediscovered it. I definitely need this somewhere in my room, especially for my choir!
4) Instrument Exploration Day
Great suggestions, especially for the beginning of the year. I can't wait to do this to get my kids on the instruments in the first few weeks of school.
5) Recorder Sequence - Starting On E
This past year I found this post about the benefits of starting recorder on E versus BAG. Angie of I Heart Teaching Music makes a great case for this approach. This past year I tried out her EEEase Into Recorder program and, holy moly, so much success! Whether you use the program or not, she gives a very thorough explanation of the process and reasoning behind start this way. I'm a believer!
I hope you enjoyed this! Remember to click the link at the top to see what other teachers are pinning!
